Carrie: The Musical
Production Electrician
The Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance
Carrie: The Musical was put on in December 2022 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theater, a 200-seat black box theater. As Master Electrician, my duties included interpreting the Vectorworks lighting plot given by the designer, creating a circuit plot, hanging and focusing all instruments (including moving fixtures). Along with my technical duties, I was in charge of a 10-person crew of conservatory students where I communicated responsibilities as well as taught basic lighting skills.
For this production, we worked with an ETC Ion console and programmed with ETC EOS. As well as with multiple Chauvet Rogue R2s, Martin Mac 500s, and ETC Source 4 fixtures. Along with the lighting fixtures, I worked with video projectors and foggers/hazers.
